About Marco Cioci

Marco Cioci was born in Rome (Italy) on 26th September 1975 and first started racing karts in 1988 as a young boy. The racy Italian later moved to the Megane Cup, the Italian Formula 3000 and then the Euro 3000 Championship from 1995 to 2002. Later he took part in the Indy Pro Series.

Marco’s first taste of success came in 2004-2005, When Marco won the 12H of Spa (BMW M3) and later the 24H of Nurburgring and Championship ETCS (BMW M3). For the next two years after he competed in the LMS and European Open GT where he took 6 wins and 13 podiums. Alongside this he also competed in the Campionato Open GT from 2006 - 2009 and won the championship twice, in 2006 and in 2008.

Marco started participating in 12H and 6H endurance races in 2008/2009 seasons and participated in the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo in 2009 and placed 2nd, then again in 2010 where he placed 3rd. His achievements continue with being a five-time winner of 6hr Vallelunga race, a prize-winner of the Abu Dhabi Gulf 12H and claimed 1st in the 24H of Dubai.

Since 2010, Cioci has triumphed in the Blancpain GT Series and has collected more race wins! He featured as a regular on the grid at the 12H Abu Dhabi endurance race from 2012 – 2014. He placed 1st in 2012, 2nd in 2013 and 3rd in 2013. Whilst racing in the Middle East, he was fortunate to take part in an American endurance race, the 12H Sebring in 2012 and stood on the top level of podium, 1st.

Marco also took 3rd place Overall in the GT2 class at 24H Spa-Francorchamps 2013 and in 2014 placed 1st. Successfully he has also been a feature on podium and prize-winner of the 24H Le Mans from 2011 to 2014.

His success continued throughout the ELMS and WEC race series. He collected 4 pole positions, 16 podiums and 8 race wins from 2010 – 2016, including a win in the last round of the ELMS in 2015 - “The 4 Hours of Estoril”. In his time racing in the WEC, he sped to 3 pole positions, 6 podiums and 3 race wins from 2012 – 2014.

More recently, In 2016 Marco has appeared on podium in the ELMS at Spielberg, He has also competed in the International GT Open and picked up 2 podiums at Spa and Paul Ricard. He has also been participating in the 24hrs of Daytona and the Asian Le Mans Series.

Marco Cioci brings a wealth of experience with some of his career highlights as the Le Mans 24H, Sebring 12H, Daytona 24H, Spa 24H and Bathurst 12H to the Kaspersky Motorsport Team and we look forward to an amazing year ahead.
